The pitch of your roof can effect the pricing. Roof pitch is a term used in roofing to describe the steepness or angle of your roof. "how many inches does your roof rise per 12 inches"... a 6/12 pitch rises 6" vertically every 12 inches it extends horizontally.

Wood Shake (shingles) or Metal Roofing are both alternatives. They both require a more specific set of skills to install. Wood can take about 4-5x longer due to the individual installation of each shingle. Metal requires a special machine to fabricate the different pieces on site.

Asphalt is the quickest... usually done within one day for an average size house. Really steep roofs or designer style roofs take longer. Wood Shake (shingle) could take possibly 4-5x's as long to install. Metal can be quick or very lengthy based on the complexity of your roof.
